One Touch GPS Based Astronomical Time Switch
Information related with latitude and longitude as well as GMT time is directly obtained from GPS signals and stored in memory of the microcontroller. Once longitude and latitudes are stored, it can work on its own whether GPS signals are available or not. The switchover from GPS clock to internal clock is automatic. As such, this time switch does require any external setting, until unless user wants to change the default settings. An ambient light sensor has also been provided, which uses Artificial Intelligence to ensure the optimum level of ambient light while switching ON/OFF the lighting load. Energy saving is achieved by regulating the ON/OFF timings of lights.
Applications:
- Everywhere, where saving of electrical energy is needed by regulating the switch OFF and ON time of Lights.
Example: Street Lights, Park Lights, Area Lights, Sign boards, Hording lights.

Other Features: As such there is no need to for any external setting until unless user wants to change the default settings, this can be done by pressing a switch for five seconds provided in the time switch, it gets access to a web page, where all the required settings like offset time in minutes, mode of operation are to be filled. Clicking the save button on the web page sends entire settings to time switch through Wi-Fi. The current time is automatically set in the real time clock chip. The light sensor facilitates the presence of sufficient ambient light until the time switch is switched ON or OFF.
Mode 0:
Switches ON and OFF as per sunset and sunrise time respectively. Offset time is added in sunset time and subtracted from sunrise time. In this mode light sensor does not come into picture.
Mode 1:
This mode works as per Mode 0 but in addition to sunset, sunrise and offset time, light sensor also comes into picture, which senses the ambient light and using Artificial Intelligence it allows switching ON/OFF of electrical lighting load The setting can be manually adjusted.
Mode 2:
In this mode, the time switch works only as per the settings of the light sensor, i.e., if the light sensor value exceeds the threshold hold value, it switches ON and vice versa. The sunset and sunrise time do not come into picture.
Mode 3:
Switches ON as per Mode 0 but switches OFF as per set time
Mode 4:
Switches ON as per Mode 1 but switches OFF as per set time.
Model's
Model No T10A-RA
The sensing unit consisting of LDR (Light dependent Resistor), Microcontroller and power supply is located at a distance from the Astronomical Time Switch so that the light mounted on a pole or tower does not fall directly on the sensor. The resistance of LDR changes as per the intensity of ambient light and the signals are sent wirelessly to the Astronomical time switch. The power supply consists of a rechargeable battery which is charged through solar panel provided along with the LDR sensor unit.
Model No T10A-S2
The basic purpose of this Astronomical time switch is energy saving in street lighting and area lighting. It consists of two relays. Both the relays get energized together at sunset as per set mode but to save energy one of the relays switches off at set time during the night hours and the connected circuits with that relay, also gets switched off resulting in saving of electrical energy. While the other relay remains energizes until sunrise time. This type of application is suitable where traffic movement becomes very less after certain hours during the night.
Model No G 10A-S2
This model consists of GPS for obtaining the longitude, latitude as well as time directly from satellite. Rest of the features are same as per model T10A-S2
Model No T10A-SD
The function of this time switch is similar to model No T10A-S2, but instead of additional relay it is used in conjunction with an additional dimmer module TA-10D and certain lights are dimmed at a fixed time in the night hours. It is assumed that density of traffic will be very low during that time and in this way energy saving is obtained.
Model No. G10A-SD
This is similar to T10A-SD model but it consists of a GPS module. Longitude and latitude, and also time are directly obtained from satellite through GPS.
